The Windberg rock lies directly above the Hotel Kehrwieder.
One kilometre away from Hotel Kehrwieder begins the dreamlike Windberg valley. You leave behind all the sounds of civilization and find yourself in a landscape of natural silence. An experience worth a trip to St. Blasien. A walk that no guest should miss.
About in the middle of the Windberg valley lies the Windberg Farm. Agriculture is carried out here according to strict ecological standards. The certified organic farm produces cheese, meat and sausage from animals from species-appropriate farming.
Thanks to the idyllic location of the property, the Windberg farm has been chosen several times as a film set. The film adaptation of the Black Forest fairy tale The Cold Heart of W.Hauff in 2016 deserves special mention.
The surroundings in St. Blasien
The Windberg waterfall gorge is a particularly charming section of the Schluchtensteig and Albsteig. It is only a few minutes away from Hotel Kehrwieder. Experience the untamed nature in the ban forest of the waterfall gorge.
The avalanche forest is a protected forest area and shows the Black Forest in its original form. This experience begins almost on our doorstep. This nature experience can be reached in a few minutes.
Whether for families, walking enthusiasts or promenaders - the nearby wildlife park with its playground and barbecue area is an experience in any case! (approx. 30 minutes walk from Hotel Kehrwieder on paths through the forest)
Adjacent to the wildlife park is a barbecue and children's playground. The refuge with barbecue area can accommodate up to 25 people. On the playground the children can let off steam with cable car, slide, climbing trees, tree house, swings and seesaw.
In autumn
When in autumn the leaves turn yellow, orange and red, it is beautiful in the forest. The foliage rustles under your feet and everywhere it smells like autumn.
The Albsteig close to Villa Kehrwieder.
In autumn the vine leaves at Hotel Kehrwieder turn dark red.
This was once the historic old Blasiwalderweg, which ran across the property of Villa Kehrwieder. In the meantime, nature has largely re-conquered it.
The large beech tree on the Kehrwieder property glows in the sun in all autumn colours.
